Job description

xScion is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Consultant to support a comprehensive review of a large financial payment system’s people, process and technology.  The consultant will work closely with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for modernization and optimization through the development of current state analysis, stakeholder analysis, market research, and customer journey maps. Working as a team, the Senior Business Consultant will deliver analysis and recommendations towards future state planning.


As a Business Consultant, You will:


  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Conduct in-depth interviews and surveys with key stakeholders, including system users, administrators, and technical experts
    • Coordinate analysis with multiple stakeholder groups including internal and external users and industry stakeholders
    • Facilitate collaborative workgroup sessions to gather insights and build consensus.
  • Document Review:
    • Thoroughly review existing documentation related to the network system, including design documents, operational procedures, and maintenance records.
  • Market Research:
    • Conduct comprehensive market research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Network Analysis:
    • Assess the current business network infrastructure, identify bottlenecks, and evaluate performance metrics
    • Identify digitalization opportunities, business process improvements, and process automation.
  • Customer Journey Mapping:
    • Develop detailed customer journey maps to visualize the user experience and identify pain points
    • Map the user experience under various scenarios, including current state, future state, and potential disruptions.
  • Feasibility Analysis:
    • Conduct a thorough feasibility analysis of potential optimization options
    • Assess the risks, benefits, and cost implications of each option
    • Develop actionable recommendations to improve network performance and reliability.
  • Report Writing:
    • Prepare a comprehensive report outlining findings, recommendations, and a detailed action plan
    • Clearly articulate the potential impact of proposed changes on the organization's operations and bottom line.


To Be Successful, You Need:

  • Advanced degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience as a business consultant or related experience
  • Demonstrable experience working within the financial field
  • Strong understanding of process improvement techniques, risk management, and change management
  • Experience supporting modernization in regulatory environments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in process analysis tools and techniques
  • US Citizenship required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with complex network systems in large organizations
  • Experience in digital transformation including process and technology optimization
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications such as ISO, CMMI, IEEE and others.
