GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for change assessment, design, development and delivery of Mortgage Origination activity to achieve planned business objectives and growth. Works closely with Mortgage Sales, Fulfillment, Product, Omni-Channel, Marketing, Customer Experience, Compliance/Legal/Risk, Retail, and other Fifth Third Bank partners to achieve desired business results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the overall functioning and performance of key business objectives for Mortgage Originations as assigned and serves as a subject matter expert.
• Own and/or participate on project teams to assess and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement.
• Lead efforts to maintain and improve process and procedures that result in improved customer experience, operational efficiency and strengthen risk management.
• Demonstrate strong project management skills including development of effective project planning, execution, change management and sustainment in order to reach desired business outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for and drive process improvement, efficiency/effectiveness and consistency.
• Foster a strong working relationship with Product, Sales, Marketing, and other groups as appropriate to implement key business objectives.
• Reports results, issues, and escalates concerns to the Director, Mortgage Delivery and develops action steps to address.
• Demonstrates effective risk management skills which includes proactively identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and resolving risks. This includes ownership to ensure development of effective action plans to resolve issues related to Audit, Compliance and other oversight groups.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May lead cross-functional team work and supervise administrative personnel with specific job functions that interact with operations and sales.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years’ of applicable Banking experience.
• 5+ years’ management experience.
• 3-5 years’ experience in Mortgage Sales or Operations required.
• Self-motivated with excellent business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
• Requires excellent analytical, project management, communications and presentation skills.
• Passion for customer experience.
• Demonstrated ability to direct initiatives with successful results.
• Proven ability to collaborate with and present to executive management.
• Proficiency with pertinent mortgage systems and software packages, including sales and customer relationship management tools; MS Office.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Normal office environment.
• Extending viewing of computer screens.
• Ability to travel throughout the Bancorp as needed (less than 20%).
