Description

The Executive Director, Medical Affairs is a key strategic partner on the Elevar Therapeutics’ Medical Affairs team and reports to the SVP, Clinical Development & Medical Affairs. The Executive Director, Medical Affairs is responsible for leading and developing processes and programs that drive the company’s rapid growth, including investigator-initiated trials (IITs), real-world evidence, scientific publications, phase IV studies, ad boards, resource management and development and execution of critical Medical Affairs launch initiatives. In addition, the Executive Director, Medical Affairs will participate in the building out of the Medical Affairs strategic plans and maintain important professional relationships with KOLs. This is a remote-based position located in the United States.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support management of Medical Affairs projects and initiatives critical for launch, including, but not limited to, insights management, data generation, and data dissemination
  • Lead scientific training for the company
  • Lead real-world evidence activities, NCCN guidelines, and Phase IV studies activities for Elevar
  • Medical Affairs reviewer for the Promotional Review Committee and for Medical Affairs materials including training, ad board, and Field Scientific Director materials
  • Congress/meeting planning, including budgeting and coordinating for Medical Affairs 
  • Lead and manage patient and disease state advocacy efforts with established national organizations
  • Lead Elevar's Scientific Publications Team
  • Lead scientific advisory boards, KOL identification and engagement plans
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years; Master’s degree with 12+ years; or PhD with 8+ year’s experience. Proven strategic management experience demonstrating business acumen, developing and delivering strategy and vision, delivering results, championing innovation, coaching and developing subordinates including remote teams.
  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree in a relevant field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a strong focus on clinical operations and medical affairs
  • Launch experience preferred
  • Proven experience and success in start-up environments, demonstrating agility and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong understanding of clinical development processes, regulatory requirements, and medical compliance
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to think strategically while being detail-oriented in execution
  • Experience in building and leading high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Ability to travel ~20%

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $255,000 to $295,000. Final compensation depends on multiple factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skillset, depth and breadth of knowledge, internal equity, and external market factors.
