NOTICE OF OPEN POSITION
Remote Support Professional

For more than 50 years, Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) has served the Washington County community and the Orange County towns of Orange, Washington and Williamstown. WCMHS provides education, support, and treatment of individuals and families living with mental health challenges, substance use issues, and developmental and intellectual disabilities. POSITION: WCMHS is seeking a Remote Support Professional (RSP) to provide person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented supportive services to individuals in residential settings through the use of remote support technology systems. The RSP works from a remote location during evening and overnight hours, utilizing virtual monitoring and communications devices to assist individuals with their health, safety, and daily living needs through real-time support. As a member of interdisciplinary teams across WCMHS programs facilitating client service plans, the RSP also attends client and staff meetings, participates in trainings, and may have other responsibilities that contribute to comprehensive, high quality service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS: The Remote Support Professional’s education and work experience will include:
  • High school completion or equivalent;
  • Two or more years of Direct Support Professional experience; and
  • Experience providing remote supports using virtual technology to clients in supportive living/healthcare settings (preferred).

Additional requirements for this position include:
  • Ability to effectively manage remote monitoring systems and other technology and related devices, and to monitor and respond to client needs with excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent computer and technology skills, with ability to trouble-shoot and resolve virtual technology malfunctions or faults and/or work with an IT support team to resolve technology issues.
  • Effective crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and ability to document work/services provided into an electronic records system with a high level of accuracy and timely completion.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and ability to maintain a calm demeanor and to make sound decisions in challenging situations.
  • Ability to interact respectfully and effectively with clients, WCMHS staff, and other professionals.
  • Commitment to the WCMHS mission and positive regard for individuals accessing services.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This full-time position offers a non-exempt hourly wage of $21.23 and excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement/student loan assistance; generous paid time off; employer-sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurances; and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match. The anticipated schedule for this position requires working hours in both 2nd and 3rd shift which carries a shift differential of $1.50/hr and $2.00/hr respectfully.
