The Role

As a Design Intern, you will help tell our JSTOR brand story in compelling new ways that connect with our audiences. Working collaboratively with the Brand and Creative team, you’ll
be responsible for considering our audiences and bringing the JSTOR brand to life through marketing campaigns and websites, social media, emails, presentations and webinars, in person and virtual events, and more.

The Design Intern should be available to work a minimum of sixteen (16) hours per week for twelve (12) weeks from March 2025 to May 2025. The deadline to apply is January 24, 2025

Responsibilities

Assist in the development and documentation of our evolving JSTOR brand by creating visual and motion design assets, templates, and guidelines for:

JSTOR’s Digital Stewardship Services, where library and cultural institutions can process, preserve, and create access to their special collections and archives.
The jstor.org research platform where scholars, researchers, and students visit 72+ million times/year for their research grounded in humanities and social sciences.

Help bring the JSTOR brand to life through design solutions for marketing campaigns and in-person and virtual events with high quality and consistent visual design.
Take direction from Senior Designer and Principal Creative Director to create effective and impactful design solutions.
Present work and ideas to peers.
Gain a deeper design practice through an audience-centered approach to design and strategy.
Work within our brand guidelines, images, components, and overall brand identity to elevate our marketing campaigns.

Experience and Skills

Second (2nd) semester junior, senior, or recent graduate majoring in Graphic Design or related field
Actively enrolled in a degree program
Proven academic success; minimum GPA of 3.0
Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, Google Slides
Exceptional time management
A self-starter who can bring enthusiasm and energy to every project
A clear communicator and effective problem solver

Work Authorization and Sponsorship

Compensation and Benefits
