Job description

Job Description:

The Associate Director of Finance will oversee the financial operations of Phreesia’s India entity and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. This role is responsible for payroll, financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, statutory and financial reporting to local statutory and higher management. The Associate Director of Finance will play a key role in formulating and implementing the company’s financial strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Payroll:
    - Managing Phreesia's India Entity entire payroll function.
    - Ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time, and that the company remains compliant with all relevant laws and tax regulations.
    - To oversee the development and implementation of payroll policies and systems and work closely with HR and finance departments to align payroll management with the company's broader strategic goals.

  • Treasury and Cash Management:
    - Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds.
    - Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
    - Optimize investment of surplus funds and manage debt financing.

  • Financial Reporting:
    - Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP or IFRS.
    - Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and tax and other Compliance.
    - Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Team Leadership:
    - Lead and develop the finance team, providing direction and mentorship.
    - Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
    - Evaluate and manage staff performance and career progression.

  • Risk Management:
    - Identify and mitigate financial risks.
    - Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
    - Manage internal controls and audit processes.

  • Strategic Partnerships:
    - Collaborate with other departments to support overall company objectives.
    - Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
    - Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.

  • Technology and Systems:
    - Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems.
    - Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
    - Explore technological advancements to enhance financial operations

  • Financial Strategy and Planning:
    - Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals.
    - Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with other departments.
    - Analyze financial performance and recommend actions for improvement.

  • Assist in special projects and M&A initiatives as required

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required

    Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in operations with technology and high growth companies in relevant industry experience within a public company.

  • 5+ years in leading and /or supporting Finance process improvement and analytics projects leveraging innovative technology.

  • Strong accounting operational background with a track record of making data-driven decisions.

  • Enthusiastic and roll up your sleeves mentality to solve complex problems through deep data analysis and synthesis of information.

  • Customer service orientation and ability to successfully resolve issues.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with other departments.

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines.

  • Experience with software including, Workday, ADP, and Microsoft Office Suite
