Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pharmacy Design Consultant with a strong operational knowledge and background as an in-patient pharmacist to join our team. This role combines your expertise in pharmacy operations with a passion for optimizing healthcare environments. You will collaborate with healthcare organizations, architects, and construction teams to design innovative and functional pharmacy spaces that enhance workflow, efficiency, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

 

As a member of the Healthcare team, this person will act as a Pharmacy Specialist and subject matter expert.   They will work with other talented engineers, Project Managers, Directors, and client teams in the design of pharmacies in a hospital/medical center setting to be coupled with our larger healthcare design offering.  You will use proven and practical data-driven Industrial Engineering techniques to support and validate the creative and ground-breaking principles of cutting-edge hospital design.  

 

Preferred experience:

  • PharmD/RPh with an operational mindset and a passion for process improvement.
  • Organizational strategy development  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with clients to assess pharmacy operational needs, goals, and challenges.
  • Develop and propose efficient pharmacy layouts and workflows that meet industry best practices and align with client objectives.
  • Ensure designs accommodate regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Analyze existing pharmacy workflows and propose improvements for efficiency, safety, and compliance.
  • Incorporate automation systems, technology, and storage solutions to improve medication dispensing, inventory management, and staff productivity.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate pharmacy designs into larger healthcare facility projects.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to clients on pharmacy operations, including inpatient, outpatient, retail and compounding pharmacies within the healthcare setting.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders to ensure the final design meets operational and strategic goals.

Other:

  • Remote candidates will be considered.
  • Travel is required and will vary depending on the project.
  • Prefer to have process improvement experience.
  • Must have an understanding of FDA and state board of pharmacy policies that could affect what type of pharmacy operations need to take place where.
  • We will consider full-time permanent hires or 1099 consultants.
