Job Responsibilities

• Contribute to the information strategy, and direction with relation to SQL Server, Databases and associated technologies

• Manage and administer the Data#3 SQL Server environment ensuring maximum availability and security of data

• Installing and configuring Database systems, patches, and upgrades.

• Co-ordinate and deliver on project activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

• Assist in general content and security management with a view to implementing more effective corporate governance, content archival, data security and disaster recovery.

• Integration of data from disparate systems in use by Data#3 to ensure availability of information for general consumption within the DataMart.

• Monitoring and reporting on Database infrastructure availability

• Conducting all aspects of capacity planning, performance monitoring and reporting, audit and governance of the database environments.

• Performing backup and recovery of corporate databases

• Liaising with application users to confirm requirements for system, back up and other requirements

• Resolve issues as raised within the call management system and adhere to internal SLA’s

• Mentor other team members and the business in Databases, SQL Server, SQL queries, and associated technologies.



Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Database administration

• Clear understanding of Technical Change Management and the impact of solutions on your customers and the business

• Proven experience in a Reporting and BI development environment using a variety of technologies

• Proven experience with the Microsoft technology stream in particular the following:

• SQL Server

• SQL Reporting Services

• SQL Analysis Services

• SQL Stored Procedures -TSQL

• SQL Server administration - DBA skills

• General experience with these additional Microsoft technologies:

• MS Power BI

• MS Dynamics AX2012

Skills

• Effective oral and written communication skills that ensure clear and accurate communication with all stakeholders

Ability

• Integrity in dealing with customer and supplier issues

• Ability to contribute to the overall goals of the team
