Compensation/Salary: $80,000-90,000 DOE.

What we are looking for 

Aleto Inc. is looking to hire a Data Warehousing Specialist for a Government Client site in Washington, DC. This role involves managing and analyzing complex data sets to deliver timely and accurate information to both internal and external users. The Specialist will be essential in software development for our federal client, ensuring that applications operate as intended and meet specified requirements. Key responsibilities include verifying that each software feature functions correctly according to system specifications and reviewing those specifications to fully understand software requirements.

Interview Process

If an offer is extended, the start date is determined by availability and the amount of time it takes for the government background clearance process (depending on the client). 

Essential Job Duties of the Data Warehousing Specialist

The following duties are essential for the role; additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:

  • Develop and execute database queries and perform analyses.
  • Create visualizations, dashboards, user stories, and reports for various projects.
  • Develop and update technical documentation.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity in reporting and dashboard solutions.
  • Support complex data analytics and business intelligence projects within a federal government environment.
  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining a centralized service center for scheduled and ad-hoc geocoding requests.
  • Facilitate the automation and execution of scheduled data processes.
  • Create and generate data products and summary tabulations from multiple data sources.
  • Help prepare data requirements, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other technical documentation.
  • Support the modernization of program scripts for data manipulation and visualization.
  • Engage in continuous data quality improvement and process optimization efforts.
  • Conduct system testing activities, including test case design, data setup, and execution, while adhering to agile methodologies.
  • Perform various levels of testing, including functional, integration, system, browser, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications, and make recommendations regarding data release suitability.
  • Communicate test status reports to project managers, team leaders, and end users.
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements and review deliverables.
  • Contribute to sprint planning and grooming sessions.
  • Provide technical support to application users and troubleshoot application-related issues.

Data Warehousing Specialist’s Qualifications/Capabilities/Software Knowledge

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with a bachelor’s degree or minimum of 6 years experience in a technical support role with demonstrated execution of tasks and projects relevant to Data Analytics, Data Science, and Business Intelligence.
  • Experience in translating business requirements into a technical design for data products and Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile and Waterfall).
  • Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium and JUnit.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Prior experience with housing Data is a plus.

Technological Skills:

  • Knowledge of programming languages, databases, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze system specifications and identify potential issues.
  • Ability to identify defects and collaborate with the development team to resolve them.
  • Proficient in writing SQL Queries relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL
  • Proficient in Python is a plus.
  • Experience in Tableau and Power BI is a plus.
  • Knowledge of STATA and Geocoding is a plus
  • Basic understanding of UNIX is a plus

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Highly developed interpersonal and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (remote).
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Production support experience with troubleshooting, identification of root cause, and issue resolution.
  • Experience with unit testing, release procedures, and documentation protocol
  • Experience with reviewing findings from vulnerability scan assessments
  • Ability to work well under pressure, maintain composure during stressful situations, and exercise good judgment when faced with complex decisions.
  • Ability to handle shifting and multiple priorities and demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster teamwork, working cooperatively and effectively with others to resolve problems.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and customer relationship management skills.
