ABOUT THE TEAM

IT Operations is a small team of passionate individuals responsible for Operations, Help Desk, Information Security, Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Database Administration, and Data Analytics across our parent company LaCalle Group. Though we are virtual and scattered across the country, we communicate frequently, have a tight-knit team, and support one another across roles and projects. ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a Junior Security Analyst to join our security team. In this role, you will help protect our company's critical systems and sensitive information by monitoring security logs, assessing vulnerabilities, and supporting compliance efforts. You'll work in a macOS and Linux environment, leveraging industry-standard security tools. To succeed in this role, you should have a solid technical foundation, either through a technical role, certification, or formal education in security. As a successful Junior Security Analyst, you will be a proactive problem-solver, eager to learn and stay updated on the latest security trends.

  • Full-time W2 position, work core U.S. business hours in your time zone

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Threat Response: Utilize industry-standard tools and techniques to protect sensitive information and infrastructure.
  • Vulnerability Management: Help identify, assess, and address security vulnerabilities and document findings and actions taken.
  • Access Control Management: Help manage user access controls, including the review and maintenance of permissions, roles, and credentials within various systems.
  • Compliance Support: Assist in evaluating and documenting compliance with relevant security regulations and frameworks, maintaining alignment with organizational standards.
  • Security Audits: Participate in audits to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations.
  • Vendor & Client Coordination: Support external vendor assessments and respond to client security questionnaires, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Collaboration with IT Teams: Work closely with IT and other departments to ensure security measures are integrated into the company's technology infrastructure.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed of industry trends and incorporate security best practices into daily operations and strategic planning.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: 2+ years in a technical role (e.g., security, help desk, sysadmin).
  • Certifications/Education: Security+ (or higher) certification or 2+ years of formal education in security.
  • Operating Systems: Experience with macOS and/or Linux environments.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with industry-standard security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and antivirus software.
  • Security Frameworks: Understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, SOC2, PCI, CIS Controls).
  • Ownership: Ability to take ownership of your work, establish deadlines, and communicate progress proactively.
  • Quality Focus: Commitment to high-quality service delivery and attention to detail.

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Programming/Scripting: Experience with any scripting language (e.g., Python)
  • Log Analysis: Experience with log analysis, techniques, and tools
