Job description

About the Role:

A Field Technician II is responsible to install, repair and maintain computer equipment for the Shyft Global Services customers. The install base consists of Enterprise, Retail and Desktop equipment across multiple customers and various equipment types. A Field Technician II must have an Associate degree in computer technologies or a minimum of 3-5 years' experience and certifications in CompTIA A+, Dell Tech Direct Client, HP RPOS. This position requires the ability to review calls throughout the local area and make decisions to help distribute the workload and maximize the ability to meet customer SLAs. There will also be times that a Field Technician II will act as an OTJ trainer for new hires in the area.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage call load effectively and efficiently maximizing opportunities to meet customer SLAs.

  • Analyzes diagnostic information and utilizes technical expertise to diagnose and repair and replace failed components based on manufacturer's system design specifications

  • Effectively manage administrative functions to include proper call closure in all required systems, inventory management and all documentation required for specific jobs and projects.

  • Use clear and proficient communication skills for interactions with customers, technical support teams, support groups (OEM, TD, Customer Help Desk)

  • Properly maintain all company assets (laptop, cell phone, company vehicle etc.)

  • Complete all necessary training and certifications as required.

Working Conditions:

Consistent non-standard work or overtime as business requires.

On-call availability required as necessary.

Local (in-country) travel required.

Clean room environment requiring ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection.
