📈 Commercial at Sano

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will play a key role in identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, focusing on biotech and pharma companies. Reporting to Julian Moxon, you will work to build a pipeline of qualified leads and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, takes initiative in solving problems, and is eager to grow into an Account Executive role.

Headlines:
  • Role - Business Development Representative (BDR)
  • Salary - ÂŁ35,000-50,000 base (+ OTE)
  • Location - Remote, UK only
What you'll be doing:
  • Strategic Prospecting: Research and target key biotech and pharma accounts, focusing on outbound outreach to generate high-quality leads using frameworks like BANT or MEDDICC.
  • Engaging Decision-Makers: Build relationships with multiple stakeholders within target accounts, identifying key decision-makers and their needs.
  • Qualifying Opportunities: Lead initial sales conversations, qualify complex opportunities, and work closely with Account Executives to drive deals forward.
  • Attending Industry Events: Represent Sano at industry conferences and events (approx. once per quarter) to expand networks and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Teams: Partner with Product, Marketing, and Delivery teams to refine messaging, improve lead generation strategies, and ensure alignment with go-to-market goals.
  • Improving Processes: Provide feedback on outreach processes and help iterate on outbound strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Tracking Performance: Log all activities in the CRM, monitor key metrics, and use a data-driven approach to improve prospecting results.
  • Achieving Pipeline Targets: Consistently deliver high-quality, qualified leads that contribute to mid- and high-value deals.
This job is for you if you:
  • Have proven experience in outbound prospecting, solution selling, or business development, particularly in biotech, pharma, or similar industries.
  • Are a confident communicator, skilled at building relationships and leading initial sales conversations.
  • Are comfortable with longer, complex sales cycles and enjoy engaging with multiple stakeholders across different functions.
  • Are strategic and proactive, taking ownership of your work and finding creative ways to open doors with new clients.
  • Have a data-driven mindset, using metrics to evaluate and improve your performance.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and are eager to contribute to a growing business.
  • Have an interest in clinical trials and want to learn more about biotech and precision medicine.
Even better if you have:
  • Have experience in enterprise B2B tech sales or a background in life sciences.
  • Are familiar with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) and frameworks like BANT or MEDDICC.
  • Have contributed to refining go-to-market strategies in a previous role.
This role is unlikely to be a great match if:
  • Lack curiosity about biotech or clinical research: Success in this role requires genuine interest in understanding Sano’s market and value proposition.
  • Struggle with proactive communication: You’ll need to engage multiple stakeholders and provide regular status updates to internal teams.
  • Don’t know how to prioritise: As a BDR, you’ll need to balance multiple strategic accounts, ensuring your time is spent on the most valuable opportunities to drive pipeline growth.
  • Need constant supervision: This role requires a high degree of self-motivation and independent problem-solving.

Research shows that some people are less likely to apply for a role unless they are 100% qualified. Your experience, skills and passion will set you apart so tell us about your achievements, irrespective of whether they are personal or work-related, tell us about your journey, and about what you learnt.

So, if this role excites you, don't let our role description hold you back, get applying!
