Job Description:  Territory Outside Sales Representative

Sales Region:  Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Oregan, Washington

Primary Function:

Generate and increase sales by soliciting business for manufactured and inventoried products and services. Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services offered by company


Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Prospect and solicit new business in coordination with the VP of Sales
  • Maintain daily field contact with existing accounts  
  • Generate new business of prospects and following up with leads
  • Attain sales volume goals set by VP of Sales
  • Work with manufacturer representatives and distributors in assigned area as required
  • Maintain constant communication with VP of Sales
  • Submit daily call reports to the VP of Sales
  • May conduct market research for new territories
  • Identify and monitor industry trends
  • Attend and work all trade shows and other promotional events as required
  • Maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company in a positive manner
  • Travel up to 90% required, overnight travel often
  • All other duties assigned by management

Skills:

  • Persuasive speaking and formal presentation skills are required in order to sell and close deals
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken formats
  • Active listening, attention to detail, planning and organizational skills required
  • Must be able to work autonomously and be a self-starter
  • Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven forecasting and customer service skills
  • Proven track record of developing business strategy and progress tracking
  • Intermediate math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) required
  • Basic software program skills using MS Office and MS Outlook required
  • Ability to maintain a clean and neat work environment and personal appearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree plus 5 years experience selling products and services required 
  • Knowledge of the after-market truck accessory industry required
  • Must be currently established in the designated territory 
  • Must possess current and valid driving record with clear history for the past three years
  • Must be willing to use multiple travel methods (drive, fly, taxi, etc…) to the following sales area but not limited to:  Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Oregan, Washington

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% - 75% of time)
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% - 25% of time)
  • Lifting of 25-50 lbs. occasionally (0% - 33% of time)

Work Environment:

  • Remote or on-the-road; must be established in the following states:   Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Oregan, Washington
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing environment where the use and wear of proper protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses or side shields on glasses and closed toe shoes are mandatory
