Today we are going through one of the most exciting times for our company. We are growing fast and as a result, we are expanding our Athens engineering team and looking for an ambitious and hands-on Field Engineer.


Impact of the Role


As part of the Vimachem team, you will play a key role in installing and supporting machines in production and packaging industrial environments. You will collaborate with our engineering, continuous improvement and sales teams to develop methods to improve and maintain the reliability of plant engineering systems, and implement technical-related projects for our customers in Greece.

What will you do as a Field Engineer?

  • Install, commission, maintain, and modify mechanical equipment and site service systems throughout the production cycle, aligned with the requirements of the business.
  • Provide customers with technical and consulting support, understand customers key processes.
  • Learn to effectively communicate with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
  • Perform on-site commissioning support when required.
  • Perform necessary mechanical installation when required.
  • Accurately diagnose and repair appliances/equipment in the customer's site.
  • Investigate the causes of equipment failures.
  • Receive service calls of the customers and provide technical assistance and guidance.
  • Participate in technical meetings with the clients’ maintenance and automation teams to discuss the solution and functionalities issues.
  • Professionally represent the company, gather data, and ask the right questions to define a project.
  • Conduct on-site inspection visits at the clients’ location to finalize the installation solution.
  • Take part in troubleshooting with the support team, open tickets and help them understand the installation steps you followed.


The main qualifications for this Field Engineer role are:

  • TEI or AEI degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Automation or Industrial Engineering.
  • 4+ years of applied professional experience in an industrial environment as a field engineer (Pharma, food, cosmetics, etc.)
  • Previous hands-on experience with troubleshooting and commissioning machines is a must.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings.
  • Customer oriented profile.
  • Very good English language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to visit and provide a service on the field to Vimachem’s clients in the Greek territory
  • Previous experience in documentation and process creation is a plus.

Desirable Knowledge:

  • Experience in the manufacturing environment, preferably in Pharmaceutical or Food & Beverage industries.
  • Knowledge of device network configuration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming would be considered a plus.
