E&S Property includes all risk (including catastrophe) property insurance coverage, for a variety of occupancies focusing on Commercial Real Estate, Education, Habitational, Healthcare, Hospitality, Retail,  and Financial Institutions.

Products

Insurance coverages available include Property Damage, Business Interruption, and Boiler & Machinery.

Executive Underwriter

Primary Location: Hybrid - Morristown New Jersey office 3 days and Work from home 2 days.

What YOU will do:

In this position, you will be responsible for actively managing a book of shared and layered property accounts. Your duties will include negotiating terms, managing policy changes, and maintaining company records. Additionally, you will service customer needs in a timely manner per Company guidelines. As a Executive Underwriter, you will be responsible for risk selection, exposure evaluation, and utilizing pricing tools to achieve an underwriting profit. You will also prepare accounts for modeling using RMS tools, prepare referrals, and issue quotes, binders, and policies in accordance with company guidelines. Your portfolio responsibilities will include achieving renewal and loss ratio goals as assigned. Furthermore, you will need to stay informed about market trends, competition, and products. This role requires a combination of technical underwriting skills, market knowledge, and customer service abilities to effectively manage a portfolio and contribute to the company's profitability.

 

What YOU will bring to C&F:

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience underwriting mono-line property accounts.
  • Manuscript, Company and ISO property form experience.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid customer service and relationship building skills.
  • A proven team player with a drive to succeed.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • College degree (B.S. or B.A.).

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $95,900 to a maximum of $159,900. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
