GP Strategies is seeking an experienced sales tax professional based in India to prepare various US tax filings during February 2025. Position will be 100% remote.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax returns for multiple jurisdictions. Including:
  • Run various reports from the ERP system
  • Prepare sales tax return workpapers
  • Interact with finance team to resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare reconciliation of sales tax reports to general ledger
  • File sales tax returns online for each jurisdiction in United States
  • Ensures compliance with state and local sales and use tax laws and regulations
  • Make payments following established procedures.
  • Maintain completion checklist to ensure all filings are completed timely.
  • Work independently to prepare business licenses, personal property tax returns and other filings as needed
  • Compilation of data in Excel files
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required.

Experience: Prior experience in sales tax compliance, accounting, or a related field is often preferred.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of sales and use tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
