Financial Data Analyst

We are looking for a Financial Data Analyst to join our Financial Steering & Analytics (FS&A) team within the Financial Controlling department. The role focuses on the digital transformation of Finance processes, replacing manual workflows with innovative and automated digital solutions.

The candidate will collaborate closely with various Finance teams to gather requirements and develop tailored solutions that streamline workflows and enhance data-driven decision-making. This is a role for someone passionate about technology and innovation, capable of bridging the gap between technical tools and financial needs.

The Resource will report to the Financial Steering and Analytics Manager.

Responsibilities:

Process Optimization and Automation:

• Partner with Finance teams to analyse current workflows and identify opportunities for automation, particularly for Excel-based processes.
• Develop user-friendly and scalable digital tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  
  
  

Data Modelling and Analytics:

• Build financial models, data input interfaces, and calculation tools.
• Integrate and analyse data from enterprise systems such as SAP HANA, Azure, or Snowflake.
  
  
  

Visualization and Reporting:

• Design and deliver interactive dashboards and financial reports using Power BI or similar tools.
• Ensure outputs support effective decision-making and align with business goals.
  
  
  

Collaboration and Support:

• Work with stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, translating them into actionable solutions.
• Document and train teams on the use of new digital tools to ensure adoption and success.
  
  
  

Continuous Improvement:

• Explore and implement machine learning techniques for predictive analytics where applicable.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and tools in Finance and technology.
  
  
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

Python for data analysis and visualization, with knowledge of libraries such as:

• Pandas
• OpenPyXL
• Matplotlib or Seaborn
• Plotly and Dash
  
  
  

Database management and integration, including:

• Azure
• Snowflake
• SQL
  
  
  

Familiarity with Power BI for creating interactive dashboards.

• Knowledge of SAP HANA for financial data extraction and modelling is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of automation tools, such as Power Automate or RPA platforms like UiPath, is a plus.
• Proficiency knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, Power Point).
• Understanding of financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Strong communication skills to interact with Finance teams and understand their needs.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in technical disciplines (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics) or economics, with interest in process digitization.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in structured business environments.
• Experience in Energy or related field will be considered a plus.
  
  
  

Languages:

• Fluent in Italian and English, other languages are a plus.
