EDI Implementation Consultant, Team Lead

The EDI Team Lead is a critical leadership role within PrimePay, a growth-focused Human Capital Management (HCM) SaaS technology company. This position oversees the implementation and ongoing maintenance of EDI file feed projects while serving as a key resource to guide and support the EDI team. The EDI Team Lead is responsible for managing escalations, collaborating with offshore resources, and driving accountability within the team. Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Act as a subject matter expert and resource for the EDI team, providing guidance and troubleshooting support
• Manage escalations from the EDI team, ensuring timely and effective resolution while maintaining a client-first approach
• Partner with offshore resources to optimize workflows, enhance collaboration, and ensure alignment across teams
• Serve as a point of escalation for high-level issues requiring technical expertise
• Oversee the development, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of EDI carrier file feeds and processes
• Collaborate with customer carriers and vendors to plan onboarding/change activities and manage existing relationships
• Ensure all established processes, procedures, and guidelines are identified, documented, and adhered to
• Coordinate project activities and timelines for EDI file feed implementations and maintenance
• Document project status and progress within project tracking software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align EDI projects with business goals and timelines
• Design and implement improvements to EDI processes to enhance efficiency and reliability
• Partner with internal and offshore resources to standardize and streamline workflows
• Maintain comprehensive documentation related to EDI processes and configurations
• Assist in training team members on proper use and troubleshooting of systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve EDI transactional issues in collaboration with carriers and customer experience teams
• Create and manage manual file feeds for customers as needed
• Build and test EDI file feeds, including 834 and flat files, to meet carrier specifications

The Ideal Person for the Job:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or in a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• 5+ years of experience in project management or implementation leadership
• 3+ years of experience with EDI processes
• Expertise in EDI processes, including 834 and flat file configurations
• Strong understanding of benefit terminology (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability, 401k, COBRA, and Flex Plans)
• Proficiency with programming languages such as SQL, JavaScript, or GitHub
• Familiarity with SFTP protocols for EDI file transfers
• Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage escalations and resolve technical issues under pressure
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with Ideon is a plus
