Job description

The Customer Retention Strategist will be fully dedicated to the New Hampshire Lottery Commission (NHLC), working closely with the iLottery Marketing Director, the broader NHLC Marketing team, and the Analytics team. The primary focus of this role is to lead the development of data-driven retention marketing strategies, optimize player engagement through CRM and loyalty, and support acquisition and conversion efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in marketing strategy, campaign execution, and performance analysis.

What You'll Do

Retention Strategy Development:

  • Led the planning, development, and execution of marketing initiatives to optimize player retention and drive engagement with the loyalty program, while also supporting acquisition and conversion.
  • Collaborate with the iLottery Marketing Director and NHLC Marketing team to develop and refine retention and loyalty program strategies to meet revenue expectations.
  • Leverage data insights to create targeted audience segments, marketing automation, and player journeys; creating personalized marketing campaigns and lifecycles.

Campaign Effectiveness:

  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of all campaigns and segments in collaboration with the Analytics team.
  • Perform end-to-end monitoring of campaign execution and performance to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Assist in managing the overall promotion budget. Track spending and optimize ongoing marketing plans to maximize campaign ROI.

Collaboration and Advocacy:

  • Work closely with the iLottery Marketing Director and NHLC to develop, present, and advocate for marketing strategies and budgets.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with overall business goals.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain strong, positive relationships with internal teams, clients, and vendor partners.

Marketing Materials:

  • Lead the day-to-day coordination, communication, and execution of promotion efforts across all products and channels
  • Build and create email templates and other marketing materials that resonate with the target audience.
  • Define, upload, and manage marketing banners across various platforms.
  • Manage the QA and approval process for all outgoing campaigns.

Optimization and Testing:

  • Develop and implement testing strategies to optimize business performance.
  • Lead the process of testing new promotional capabilities on various platforms before launch.
  • Continuously research digital marketing and loyalty trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance marketing efforts.
  • Conduct thorough campaign testing to ensure 100% accuracy, functionality, and alignment with campaign budgets and objectives.

Standards and Compliance:

  • Develop, document, and implement standards and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay current on email best practices and U.S. CAN-SPAM compliance requirements to ensure all marketing activities are compliant.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. A comparable amount of training and related experience may be substituted.
  • 5+ years experience in CRM marketing and/or similar roles in a digital strategy environment.
  • Proven experience in marketing strategy, campaign execution, and performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure and interpret campaign performance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process-driven.
  • A solid level of knowledge and technical understanding across a wide range of digital disciplines including email, SMS, push, web, mobile, social media, segmentation, and personalization.
  • Knowledge of email marketing best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to stay current with industry trends and apply new technologies and methodologies to enhance marketing efforts.
  • Practical experience with a loyalty program is a plus.
  • Design and HTML/CSS experience are a plus.
  • Experience with Bloomreach Engagement is a plus.

Pay Range

$87,483 - $162,468 per year

Our goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
