A trusted food and beverage manufacturing company is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive sales in the East Coast territory. This remote role involves frequent travel as you build relationships with clients, manage existing accounts, and generate new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to B2B sales, with experience in cold calling, account management, and creating tailored client solutions. They re looking for a self-motivated and results-driven professional with a proven track record of meeting sales targets and excellent communication skills.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers at target companies
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitors
  • Develop tailored proposals and presentations for potential clients
  • Collaborate with marketing to implement effective sales strategies and campaigns
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations
  • Negotiate and close sales contracts with new and existing clients
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment
  • Maintain accurate sales records, including customer profiles and market feedback
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events

Business Development Manager Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in outside B2B sales, preferably in the food ingredients industry
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth
  • Experience with cold calling and closing sales deals
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience creating sales presentations
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or ZoomInfo is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of food ingredients and their applications is a plus
