Wood is currently recruiting for a National Offshore Mechanical Technician with relevant experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry, ideally offshore,
The position is based offshore Equatorial Guinea, working a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation.
Please note this position is only open to National EG candidates.
To support the offshore mechanical maintenance team on the asset, operate and carry out first line maintenance activities as directed by the relevant Supervisor on the process and utilities plant in a safe and efficient manner.
To report any defect or inspection report to relevant Asset Supervisor in a clear and concise manner and record all relevant information in logs as required.
Responsibilities
Prime Responsibilities:
Carry out the inspection, maintenance and repair of all rotating and static mechanical systems.
Required to conduct tests on equipment and assist Plant Operator to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation.
Carries out condition monitoring activities and interpretation of results
Review/maintains accurate and current records
Ensures the installation, calibration and testing of platform equipment is conducted in accordance with company requirements and any statutory guidelines
Ensures the required supply of spare parts is available, prepares and requisitions items required.
Maintains good housekeeping conditions in workshop and work sites
Put forward suggestions and develop modification requests as necessary to improve plant/equipment efficiency/safety operations
Prepare equipment for maintenance activity.
Participation in risk assessments when appropriate
Assist platform teams where required.
Hse
Proactively contribute to delivery against HSE plans and improvement objectives.
Be aware of physical condition of plant & equipment to ensure technical integrity is maintained; raise issues and concerns identified.
Ensure a safe and comprehensive handover is given at shift or crew change with all pertinent operational and maintenance information to relevant personnel.
Maintain effective communication with Supervisors and other work groups.
Be a member of the platform Emergency Response Team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Time served apprenticeship or recognised technical qualification in mechanical plant and equipment.
Experience in topsides systems associated with upstream oil production, Gas Compression, Pumps, Hydraulics, Condition Monitoring and Workshop Equipment.
Demonstrable knowledge of Plant & Equipment
Demonstrable knowledge of Maintenance Process practices
Maintain complete and accurate records within the Maintenance Management System
Adhere to all legislative, environmental and company standards and procedures and checklists.
Offshore BOSIET & MIST certification
Job Specific Skills
Several years previous experience working in the oil & gas industry, ideally offshore.
PC Application Skills
IT literate with proficiency Microsoft Applications
Personal Attributes
Fluent in communicating in English language, verbal and written
Able to clearly and concisely communicate by verbal and written skill communication
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment alongside other technical disciplines
Actively participate in meetings, planning, initiatives etc.
Good team player.
