About the Role

RIBA is growing its international membership and are seeking an experienced Membership Engagement Manager to join our International team in Hong Kong.

The International team is responsible for day-to-day activity across four international regions outside the UK—Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Asia and Australasia.

As Membership Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for driving membership growth and engagement across Asia, managing a pipeline for new membership from students to Chartered members. You will create and deliver in-country activities, including campaigns which contribute to membership growth through recruitment and retention.

The role will work closely with the established Chapter in Hong Kong and emerging member groups and Chapters across Asia, to deliver the annual engagement plan and identify further opportunities.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in driving growth, retention, and engagement, ideally in a business development role within a membership organisation, with a track record of meeting targets and KPIs.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads, balance conflicting priorities, and consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and networking abilities, with experience consulting and building relationships at all levels, including senior stakeholders, and the capacity to influence, persuade, and motivate effectively.
  • Strong project management expertise, demonstrated through the successful delivery of complex, high-profile events on time and within budget.
  • Experience working in international settings, with an understanding of collaborating with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of marketing and communication strategies, including working with external agencies to deliver impactful campaigns aligned with organisational branding and communication frameworks.
  • High level of numeracy, with proven experience managing and delivering work within tight budget constraints.
  • A collaborative team player who contributes effectively to shared goals and objectives.
  • Proficient in using digital platforms and systems, including CRM databases, to manage and track activities.
  • Interest in architecture and the built environment.
  • Fluency in Chinese is advantageous but not essential.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and driven professional passionate about driving engagement, building strong relationships, and contributing to the growth of an international community.
