Principal Engineer ISP

About the Role: Indigo is seeking a Principal Inside Plant Engineer - Day 2 Operations to lead the reliable and efficient operation of critical infrastructure at ILA sites. This senior technical leader will focus on Day 2 operations and beyond, ensuring seamless performance and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement processes for Day 2 operations, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, security, engineering) to ensure smooth site operations.
• Provide technical leadership for capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization.
• Maintain technical documentation, including operational runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance site operations.

Critical Infrastructure Responsibilities:

• Power: Manage UPS systems, backup power, PDUs, ATS, and power monitoring systems.
• HVAC: Ensure proper functioning of HVAC systems, cooling, humidity control, and air quality management.
• Site Communication: Oversee fiber optic connectivity, Ethernet networks, wireless systems, and network routers/switches.
• Site Security: Manage access control systems, surveillance cameras, motion detection, and security monitoring.
• Site Access: Ensure secure access to sites, including gates, doors, mantraps, fencing, and vehicle control systems.

Key Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in ISP engineering, focusing on Day 2 operations and ILA sites.
• Strong knowledge of optical networking, amplification, and transmission systems.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Experience with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical issues.
