As an Automation and Digital Technology Engineer, you will help us create Industry 4.0, 5.0, and beyond, bringing the power of data and automation to the operators and decision makers. In this role you will manage multiple food engineering projects from inception to production. You will work closely with other functions to help them bring the right automation and data systems to life as well as coach and teach our operations team how to use their new equipment. You will help lead the team in the area of OT (operational technology) bringing your skills in data collection, Scada, and networking to unlock our full potential.

The position supports the following regions: Midwest – Battle Creek, MI; East Coast – Lancaster, PA; Central – Omaha, NE; Memphis, TN; West Coast – Mexicali, Mexico; and Canada – Belleville, Ontario.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Supporting Manufacturing Facilities – You will be providing technical support to our manufacturing facilities in the areas of Industry 4.0, automation, operational technology, and electrical power systems such as medium and low voltage electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, manufacturing control platforms, PLC control (Rockwell), robotics, AGV/AMR, control system software applications, SCADA/HMI graphic software applications (Rockwell, Wonderware, Ignition), integration protocol, SAP software, information gathering systems (OSI-PI), and electrical/utility code requirements
  • Cost Effective Innovation – You will discover and evaluate energy reduction technologies, new Green conservation and sustainability initiatives, and other cost effective solutions to electrical and utility infrastructure systems
  • Creating Documentation – Developing and maintaining electrical and software/control system specifications, design standards and cost estimating data
  • Project Management – You will be working with cross-functional teams to lead and manage electrical, automation, and smart factory delivery on capital projects.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant work experience or high school/GED with 15 years of relevant technical experience
  • Skills in SQL, Scada, MES, Data Collection, Networking, and Virtualization are the competencies this role is centered around.
  • Proficiency in automation and controls is critical as well as knowledge of power systems will help you successfully deliver in this role.
  • Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Controls platforms include but not limited to Rockwell/AB, B&R, Beckhoff, Fanuc.
  • Project Management and budget execution experience a plus
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to a wide range of individuals/audiences with different knowledge levels.
  • Estimated travel up to 50%

Salary Range: $116,700 - $160,500
