NMS has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant. As a candidate for this position, you will provide accounting for the preparation of accurate and timely reports, analysis, and entries to support monthly closes. Responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager in performing balance sheet, revenue, expense, and payroll account reconciliations, as well as executing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. This position will also analyze financial data for discrepancies. This position may assist in the training of lower-level accounting team members. If an opportunity presents itself, will use a consultative selling approach to enhance solutions to new or existing merchant(s). Maintains a professional working relationship with internal and external customers.
- Qualifications include but not limited to:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or CMA) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of merchant services and credit card processing industry and related products.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in audit, accounting and/or internal controls.
- Public accounting experience preferred with a working knowledge of GAAP.
- Ability to maneuver comfortably through complex policy, process and people related organizational dynamics.
- Possess a strong desire to consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances.

- Experience using bank electronic cash management reporting systems desirable.

- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Windows based computer applications (0365, Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word and Outlook) and MAS 500 a significant plus.
- Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain and record business transactions of designated electronic payment processing entities
- Manage employee expense reports - record and deliver results to payroll team for timely reimbursement.
- Review and reconcile reporting for - Inventory analysis (Shipping and Receiving).
- Perform monthly close process includes but not limited to pre and close Journal entries, billing system (reconciliation and recording entries), fixed assets, inventory and depreciation analysis, entries and controls, account analysis and reconciliation.
- Record transactions to cash, intercompany, inventory, and convenience fees.
- Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, general ledger accounts, and financial reports.
- Ensure daily cash management entries as well as bank reconciliation is completed at closing.
- Accounts payable process approvals and weekly processing close reviewed and approved by Manager/Controller.
- Continuous improvement to documentation of all processes that are involved in the role.
- Contribute to the execution of monthly, quarterly and annual close processes including completing account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Monitor usage of company credit cards and review and prepare entries of transactions noting proper authorization, documentation, and the business purpose.
- Review and obtain proper documentation prior to approval of payment of all expenses including vendor, agent, employee and intercompany.
- Work collaboratively with the Accounting Manager to ensure complete, accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule with input from other accounting team members.
- Provide daily cash updates to senior management, monitor bank account balances and transfer idle funds to the money market, when possible, to achieve optimal returns.
- Process and record transactions relating to cash management, receivables, cash receipts, payables, residuals, disbursements, accruals and general journal entries for NMS.
- Maintain underlying financial records to document and support all recorded financial activity.
- Process numerous ACH's and wires for cash management, residual payments, agent billing, non-Fiserv account billing and DTDF amounts owed.
- Process credit card billing to agents and customers as requested.
- Prepare balance sheet analytics of all balance sheet accounts including other receivables, residual expense payable, prepaid, accounts receivable aging and accounts payable aging and include commentary as needed.
- Maintain detailed schedule of commission income account.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the Accounting Manager's attention.
- Review, record and reconcile all inter-company transactions, generate invoices as needed and process payments at month-end.
- Coordinate with internal departments including relationship managers, finance, settlement and risk to complete tasks and provide requested information.
- Work with various vendors to obtain the information needed to accurately report transactions.
- Provide back-up capability or assistance to accounting team members.
- Participate in external audits, providing appropriate insight and documentation.
- Review processes and procedures within the department and provide input and insight to improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
- Prepare, coordinate, and manage SOX audit and SEC filing responsibilities.
The salary range for the role is $80,000 - $95,000 per year.
