Position Title

Marketing Senior Project Manager

Salary Range

Marketing Senior Project Manager, Sourcewell Grade 12, Exempt, $87,035.75 - $121,850.05 per fiscal year, commensurate with experience.

Job Description Summary

This position will partner with marketing management and organizational leaders to deliver marketing projects on time and on budget. This individual must have strong communication and relationship-building skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment where cross-functional leadership is key to solving complex problems. This position will also be responsible for developing and managing projects and processes with both the marketing team and external advertising agencies, as well as in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Marketing project lifecycle management and delivery
  • Responsible for the end-to-end management of marketing projects and is accountable for the project scope, schedule, budget, resources, change management (CM), and overall quality of project delivery.
  • Guides project sponsor and stakeholders across all phases of the marketing project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, risk mitigation, monitoring and control, and closure.
  • Identify and structure work streams for projects and initiatives, works with project team to organize marketing roadmaps and reach critical milestones.
  • Effectively collaborates with marketing team and appropriate stakeholders to mitigate risks and proactively supports planned and/or unplanned needs.
  • Manages ongoing deliverables and determines appropriate priority of day-to-day tasks.
  • Partners with business leaders to provide training for implemented projects.
  • Serves as primary resource to teams to remove obstacles, provide solutions, and coach team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Manages and maintains strong relationships with vendor partners and agencies to expand capability and capacity of marketing team to meet ongoing project needs.
  • Manages multiple projects concurrently.
  • Guides the marketing team on project management and serves as a change management resource.
  • Documentation and communication
  • Manages and communicates all project work streams to ensure project meets delivery requirements, timeframes, and budget.
  • Communicates and presents information effectively to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Adheres to Sourcewell’s PMO project methodology including all proper documentation, status reports, meeting minutes, issue logs and any other documentation related to the management of projects.
  • Establishes and manages cross-functional relationships between all areas of the business and with external partners.
  • In conjunction with the PM center of excellence, utilizes Sourcewell’s project management software tools to manage marketing project documentation, communication, and progress tracking.
  • Collaborates with Marketing Project Coordinator to:
  • Transition project schedules and objectives into executable tasks for assignment
  • identify and resolve timing and capacity challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI)
  • Develops and manages marketing improvement opportunities utilizing Sourcewell's established CI/CM methodologies to optimize time and efficiency of project teams and marketing operations.
  • Utilizes Sourcewell's existing CI/CM best practices, processes, and tools to ensure consistency and clarity in continuous improvement opportunities and change management strategies throughout the organization.
  • Stays informed and educated on changing technologies, frameworks, and project management best practices in collaboration with project managers throughout the organization.
  • Serves as a marketing ambassador and representative on other inter-departmental or organization-wide projects.
  • Participates in releases as necessary, including outside of traditional work hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field AND a minimum of four (4) years’ experience managing large projects in a marketing, sales, or other complex mission critical business system OR
  • A combination of related post-secondary and/or professional education and demonstrated relevant work experience managing technical or marketing projects in a marketing, sales or other complex mission critical business system equivalent to a total of eight (8) years.
  • Strong business process/operational knowledge (e.g., customer service, inventory management, procurement, accounting)
  • Four (4) years’ experience managing outside agencies and/or contractors
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement experience
  • Meeting facilitation and presentation experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or CAPM certification.
  • Six (6) or more years managing outside agencies or contractors

  • On occasion, may be asked to travel to Staples, MN for meetings, professional development or team activities. Potentially twice per year. Notice will be given ahead of time.
