Job description

#Acareerthatmatters #Acontributionthatcounts

Here at DETSI, you'll be inspired to make Queensland better. We enable long-term, sustainable decisions for the environment and the economy and are committed to working in genuine partnership with First Nation people.

We're looking for a talented and passionate Senior Program Officer with experience in high value program delivery to join our Healthy Waters team.

Your Contribution

As a Senior Program Officer, you will be responsible for assisting the delivery of Environmental Recovery Programs valued at over $100 million, funded through the joint Queensland and Australian Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). The DRFA provides financial assistance to help communities, businesses and the environment recover from eligible disaster events.

The Programs support rehabilitation and restoration of rain and flood-affected environments in order to maintain healthy ecosystems and other environmental values and improve resilience for future disaster events. There are a range of components within each Program, including but not limited to Environmental Investigations, Clean Up, Invasive Species, Biodiversity Conservation and Riverine Recovery activities.

A key focus of the role will be supporting the Principal Program Managers with administration of the Programs, including project delivery milestone assessment, grant and procurement management, finance tracking, monthly reporting requirements, communication and media considerations, stakeholder engagement and governance. There will be opportunities to travel as part of this role to connect with delivery partners, undertake site inspections and discuss program outcomes.

What's in it for you?

  • Enjoy fantastic flexibility, benefits, work life balance, significant development opportunities as a public servant of Queensland!
  • Work where you can truly engage your values and sense of purpose to safeguarding the environment for Queenslanders.
  • You'll experience so much here. For most of us, it starts with our wonderful people and the rich, diverse perspectives they bring. They're dedicated, passionate and curious professionals. We're all different, and those differences are what make us great.
