About The Role
The Deputy Director of Incentive Programs, will lead CALSTART’s efforts to design, implement, and oversee clean transportation incentive programs. The successful candidate will manage program operations, engage stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of impactful and equitable results. This position requires a dynamic leader with a strong understanding of clean transportation technologies, public policy, and program management.
What You'll Do
- Day to day responsibilities include:
Program Leadership
- Oversee the design, development, and execution of clean transportation incentive programs.
- Ensure programs align with state goals for emissions reduction, equity, and economic development.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, industry stakeholders, community organizations, and advocacy groups.
- Lead public outreach and education efforts to ensure widespread awareness and participation in incentive programs.
Operations And Oversight
- Manage day-to-day operations of the incentive programs, including budget oversight, team supervision, and performance tracking.
- Develop metrics and reporting frameworks to measure program success and identify areas for improvement.
Equity And Accessibility
- Design programs that prioritize historically underserved and overburdened communities.
- Collaborate with partners to address barriers to program participation.
Policy And Advocacy
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to clean transportation and incentive programs.
- Provide strategic recommendations to state policymakers to enhance program impact.
What You'll Bring To The Table
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, environmental science, business administration, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in program management, public policy, or clean transportation industries.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing complex programs with measurable results.
- Strong understanding of transportation policies and climate goals.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and environmental justice.
$105,630 - $120,260 a year
CALSTART values transparency and strives to provide as much information regarding compensation as possible. The complete salary range for this role is $105,630 - $120,260 . We determine pay based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity and other factors relevant to the job.
