Job description

About Us

We are launching a Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance business to better serve the over $5 billion in multifamily property under our management, establish a new industry benchmark for excellence in service, and become the most trusted and effective liaison between multifamily property owners with insurance carriers and wholesalers. Our mission is to provide unparalleled value to property owners by securing tailored, cost-effective coverage while building strong, enduring partnerships with carriers to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.

We’re looking for a missionary to lead—a professional who shares our values and a desire to create transcendent positive impact through profitable business. This isn’t just a role; it’s a calling for someone who wants to make a difference while building something exceptional from the ground up.

We are a mission-driven enterprise, with assets under management of ~20,000 multifamily apartment units, an investment platform which has purchased over $2B in assets, and a robust cohort of tech companies in the real estate space. Our mission is to uplift and serve individual people, seeking to make their lives better and further humanity in all our products and services.

The Opportunity

As our Director of Insurance Operations, you will be the cornerstone of our new insurance venture. You’ll oversee all aspects of operations, from designing and managing insurance programs for our owned assets to building relationships with carriers and wholesalers and ensuring regulatory compliance. You’ll be joining an organization with an immediate sales channel and an established customer base, allowing you to focus on execution and operational excellence from day one. This is a remote role, offering flexibility and autonomy, with occasional travel to key markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Launch & Manage Insurance Operations: Design, implement, and manage P&C insurance programs for our owned and managed multifamily properties.
  • Carrier Relationships: Leverage your industry network to secure trusted carrier and wholesaler partnerships, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure seamless policy issuance.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all programs meet regulatory requirements, particularly in Florida and Texas, and effectively manage risk exposure.
  • Program Optimization: Analyze data and stay abreast of trends and developments to refine policy structures, pricing, and coverage to maximize value for our business and clients and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Claims Support: Oversee claims management to ensure fair, prompt resolution and exceptional service for our properties.
  • Industry Expertise: Bring deep knowledge of the multifamily insurance markets and continually improve our understanding of this critical cost center.
  • Mission-Driven Leadership: Uphold and embody our ethos, ensuring all business dealings reflect our commitment to serving individual people and uplifting humanity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Missionary Mindset: A mission-driven individual who seeks to serve others and elevate humanity in all business practices, with a particular passion for serving both the carriers and policy holders.
  • Experience: 7-10 years of experience in the P&C insurance industry with an active license and a focus on multifamily real estate insurance. Experience with properties in catastrophic (CAT) zones is a plus.
  • Industry Network: Strong, respected relationships with major insurance carriers in the P&C space, particularly in multifamily.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in designing insurance programs, underwriting, risk assessment, and compliance with state-specific regulations.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: A proactive, self-motivated leader capable of building a business from the ground up.
  • Operational Excellence: Proven ability to manage complex processes, juggle multiple priorities, and drive results.
  • Collaboration Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of Debt Markets: Familiarity with agency debt and lender compliance requirements is a strong plus.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $150,000 - $180,000
  • Performance Bonus: $20,000 - $50,000 based on revenue milestones and operational success.
  • Profit Sharing: Potential for a profit-sharing arrangement tied to the success of the insurance business.
