Now, Zitcha is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our innovative team in Australia. Join us in shaping the future of retail media as we revolutionise the industry and empower retailers and brands to achieve unparalleled success.

Zitcha is transitioning to be a global technology platform operating across 5 different continents. The engineering team is seeking a strong Senior Backend Engineer with expert knowledge in PHP and Laravel to further improve and develop its applications. You will be working on creating new features for a global product.

Skills And Qualifications

• 8+ years of full time backend development experience, ideally 5 years experience in Object oriented PHP and Laravel, preferably in a high growth startup.
• Complete mastery of a php framework like Laravel or Symphony (We use Laravel). Have built and shipped multiple large scale projects built with Laravel or Symphony.
• Knowledge of relational databases, we use MySQL.
• Proficient with phpunit/Pest, Test Driven Development is your primary instinct.
• Experience in developing well documented APIs, API integrations with other platforms and SDKs using PHP best practices.
• Working knowledge of Docker, setting up dockerised environments, using docker for local development and deployments.
  
  

Bonus points if you have

• Intermediate level proficiency with ReactJS would be amazing.
• Expertise in Elastic search.
• Experience with handling infrastructure in various AWS services. (ECS, Fargate, Lamda, RDS, Logging and performance monitoring in AWS).
• Experience with IaC, we use AWS CDK.
• Previous experience in performance monitoring and optimisation.
• Proven success mentoring other engineers.

• Scoping and architecting features independently and leveraging your great team to deliver these features on time.
• Maintaining the highest level of quality and coding standards in the codebase. Giving constructive feedback to the rest of the team to elevate their code quality.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Develop integrations with external ad networks.
• Participate in code reviews to give constructive feedback to the rest of the team to elevate their code quality.
• Test, deploy and support new product and features.
