The Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) is an initiative at the PHI Center for Health Leadership & Impact (CHLI) that aims to help health departments promote and protect health in their communities. PHIG is recruiting a new VISTA member to support external communications and training events for partner health departments. PHIG provides support around infrastructure improvement for state and local health departments in California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawai'i, and the U.S. Pacific Islands. The member will be providing administrative support for PHIG activities with the staff team in our program office. The selected member will develop skills in logistics, organization, coordination, and interpersonal communication. Selected candidates will be a part a statewide member learning community through PHI Center for Health Leadership and Impact, the largest AmeriCorps VISTA sponsor in the Western Region. This community includes support from VISTA Leads and professional development opportunities including workshops, networking events, conferences and other trainings. Member Duties : All members serve full-time, 40 hours per week for a full 12-month term. This position is 100% teleservice with virtual meetings, and attendance requirements during service hours and will be expected to adhere to CHLI remote work policies. This role is administrative and focuses on capacity building projects. The role will not include direct service. Core responsibilities of this role will be to support external communications and training events for PHIG direct recipient health departments; Assist with drafting a monthly newsletter to showcase upcoming events; Plan and execute PHIG and co-sponsored events; Update and maintain entries in the PHIG Resource Guide resulting in a database of resources that can be utilized by state and local health departments to support their public health infrastructure work. This VISTA member will need to be able to independently complete tasks. The VISTA member should have interest in program coordination and project management versus direct service.
