The Opportunity

runZero is looking for a highly motivated Federal Sales Engineer to join our expanding SE team! This role will drive impactful revenue and growth for our Federal prospects and customers. Our team is motivated by the desire to solve critical challenges our customers face in their IT and OT environments through consultatively listening to understand their needs and sharing how runZero can assist. 

You’ll support our Federal business and act as the bridge between sales and technical teams. You’ll use your communications and technical skills to win business and market share while adding a powerful and differentiating new solution to Security and IT Team’s tool belts.  Location Preference: DMV area, East coast

What You'll Do
  • Jointly own and achieve ARR goals across our Federal team by providing technical expertise and serving as a trusted advisor to customers to assist purchasing decisions or disqualify a deal when runZero is not an appropriate technical fit.
  • Understand and communicate runZero’s value propositions effectively through solution demos, PoVs (proof-of-value), presentations, and enablement sessions with prospects, customers, and partners.
  • Lead the support within customer PoVs to address specific use cases and requirements, while collaborating within runZero as needed
  • Listen to customer and prospect feedback, and advocate within runZero to guide product and go-to-market priorities.  
  • Present vision, strategy, and product roadmaps to customers. 
  • Support the runZero message by contributing to webcasts, blog posts, best practices guides and tips, and other technical writing support. 
Skills You Have
  • 4+ years experience in a SE or similar customer-facing role supporting technical interactions and communications within the federal sector 
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience across one or more of the following areas: L2-L4 networking, systems administration, cloud computing, IT security, OT security, or other relevant technical fields 
  • A foundational understanding of core cybersecurity principles and challenges for IT, OT, and IoT environments
  • Working knowledge and understanding of procurement and acquisition processes within federal environments and agencies 
  • The technical competency to implement, configure, and understand runZero's solution while building strong relationships with highly specialized customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to prioritize across multiple customer projects and responsibilities
  • Openness to coaching and mentoring, possessing a natural curiosity around technology, and supporting customers
  • Ability to collaborate with Federal channel partners in support of customer projects
  • Experience managing technical PoV/PoCs within SE role across multiple Account Managers 
  • Preferably lives in the DMV area, East coast 
Salary range:

runZero values transparency in the hiring process. According to our market data, we’re expecting this role to come in at an On Target Earning (OTE) of $220,000 to $250,000 with an 80/20 split between base salary and commissions plus stock options, depending on level of experience. We know that the talent market is always in flux, so please let us know if you believe we have advertised this role at the wrong salary band.
