Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager to lead and manage security-focused projects across various teams. This role will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of security and IT initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams, including security, engineering, IT, and operations, to implement and uphold the organization’s information security posture. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage technical IT and security projects through the full project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals
  • Utilize Scaled Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) to plan, prioritize, and manage security projects, ensuring they integrate with ongoing Agile processes
  • Collaborate with security teams to develop and implement security controls, risk management strategies, and compliance frameworks
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders) to identify security requirements and ensure that technical solutions meet organizational needs
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of security project roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables
  • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to report on project progress, risks, and issues, ensuring clear communication and transparency across teams
  • Coordinate with security operations teams to support ongoing vulnerability management, threat intelligence, incident response, and security tool integration
  • Foster a security-first culture, educating teams on security best practices, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure that all security projects align with regulatory and industry standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, and NIST
  • Identify potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle and proactively take corrective actions
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with Agile principles, security policies, and organizational goals
  • Continuously monitor industry trends in information security and Agile practices, applying relevant insights to improve project processes and security outcomes

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Business, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP) are a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in managing technical projects, with a focus on information security and technology
  • Proven experience working with Scaled Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
  • Strong understanding of information security principles, practices, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex security challenges in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with risk management and implementing security controls across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments
  • Knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, endpoint protection, identity management, encryption, and intrusion detection systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with security automation tools and DevSecOps practices
  • Advanced certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe Program Consultant, Certified ScrumMaster) or Information Security (e.g., CISSP, CISM)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their associated security frameworks

Salary Range:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $121,000 and $187,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
