Job Description

We are hiring a Paid Media Buyer to join our Performance Marketing team. This role involves the setup, management, and optimization of media investments across social, search, display, video, and linear & connected TV channels to support our fundraising objectives. The goal is to drive increased media awareness and maximize donation conversions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the setup, management, and optimization of media investments across various channels, including social, search, display, video, and linear & connected TV.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external business partners to understand media buying processes and optimize buys based on established campaign goals.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in media buying, specific channel KPIs, and industry trends to optimize performance outcomes.
  • Partner with Media Strategy, Performance Analytics, and UX/Content teams to analyze results across all response channels and inform optimizations.

Qualifications:

  • Strong critical thinking, technical proficiency, communication, and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs) and programmatic advertising.
  • Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, chart creation, and VLOOKUPs.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets, understand naming conventions/taxonomy, and make optimization decisions based on results.
  • Self-driven with a strong interest in learning about the industry and programmatic best practices.
  • Keen interest in traditional and digital communications, with a focus on emerging media.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to zero-defect campaign setup and execution.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and focus on impactful next steps.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as business, finance, or mathematics.
  • 1-2 years of experience in online, linear TV, or CTV/OTT advertising.

Specific Channel Expertise:

  • Linear & Connected TV: Experience negotiating rates with publishers and a passion for TV, including familiarity with networks, programs, shows, and personalities. Bonus: Knowledge of CTV campaign setup and media buying through DSPs like Google Marketing Platform’s Display & Video 360.
  • Programmatic Media/Social: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Marketing Platform, other DSPs, and social media ad managers (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager). Thorough understanding of available metrics and their interpretation. Bonus: Google Marketing Platform/Facebook Blueprint Certification.
  • Search: Understanding of SEM, search engine management platforms, and engine accounts. Bonus: Google Ads/Microsoft Ads Search/Google Marketing Platform Certifications.

Additional Information:

  • This role is specific to programmatic advertising, and we are seeking someone with relevant experience.
  • Unlike traditional media buyers, this role focuses on media performance and optimization rather than creative trafficking.
  • We are a fully in-house media team dedicated to performance-focused strategies.
