Job description

The Security Engineering team is looking for a security engineer to protect and improve the information security posture at Echo. As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for a broad range of operational and engineering tasks, as well as roles on projects that will require collaboration across the organization to accomplish successfully.

Position Overview:

  • Incident Analysis – Monitors, investigates, and responds to alerts generated by operations platforms, including endpoint, network, and email logs.
  • Penetration Testing - Conducts penetration testing and ethical hacking exercises to proactively identify and remediate security issues;  supports senior team members and external vendors in completion of the same.
  • Security Awareness - Promotes security best practices by technical and non-technical employees through effective modeling of secure behavior and positive outreach & communications. 
  • Compliance - Ensure compliance with current and future regulatory / commercial requirements related to information security.
  • Security Tools - Participate in evaluating and implementing tools and technologies to support Echo's security goals. 
  • Documentation - Support long-term stability of Echo platforms and processes, and enable self-service through effective training aids, enhancement of SOPs, and other forms of documentation.
  • Collaboration - Vocal partner within the Security and TechOps teams, Technology organization, and the broader Echo community.

Position Requirements:

  • 5 years of work experience in professional IT setting.
  • 3 years of system, network and/or application security experience
  • Experience as a Security Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of information security principles, best practices, and technologies.
  • Excellent lateral thinking / problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-directed learner, ability to proactively identify areas for growth and execute plan to achieve.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using at least one major scripting tool (e.g. Python or Powershell) for automation and analysis
  • Experience with cloud security models and their application (AWS well-architected framework).
  • Knowledge of network and web related protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, and TLS
  • Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (eg NIST, ISO27001, MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP SAMM, etc)
  • Knowledge of Echo's product / tool stack (ServiceNow, Teams, O365, and security specific tools)
  • Relevant security or networking certifications, such as Security+, OSCP, CEH, GIAC (various) and others.
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $97,750.00 - $120,650.00 - $143,600.00

This role is eligible for a bonus that is based on a combination of personal and business performance.
