Position Description
The Mission Account Manager is accountable for managing all aspects of agency sales and marketing efforts and is responsible to represent the agency in activities involving professional decision makers, professional contacts, physicians, and referral sources (including but not limited to facilities, senior living communities, hospitals, and professional groups). The Account Manager is responsible for educating and supporting the identification of available services for patients and families who are clinically appropriate and eligible to receive services. The Account Manager will be responsible for providing quality sales calls and educational meetings as a member of the marketing team, establishing, and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to customer requests and concerns, and negotiating service contracts with managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payors. The Account Manager will be responsible for meeting and/or exceeding their monthly/quarterly admission goals, of clinically appropriate and eligible patients, set forth by their Area Sales Manager and Senior Management.

This position offers a generous base salary with an uncapped commission plan.


  • Directs all daily marketing operations within their assigned territory to include daily sales calls, preplanned meetings, and ongoing education with referral decision makers (physicians, discharge planners, social workers, administrators, and other health professionals).
  • Facilitates education on guidelines and agency services provided to appropriate and eligible patients.
  • Participate in community education functions, including by not limited to public speaking to healthcare professionals/civic groups/church groups, to provide education on applicable services available by Mission.
  • Coordinate with physician offices and Agencies in obtaining physicians signature on orders, required addendums (Face-to-Face, Management and Evaluation, etc.), and other documents in a timely manner, including the delivery and picking up documents at physician offices per operating protocols and as needed.
  • Assists management in establishing agency volume projections in the annual budget and in establishing allocations for the marketing department. Monitors allocation of resources according to budgetary limitations.
  • Continuously conducts market assessments and develops a comprehensive marketing plan designed to meet budgetary volume projections.
  • Employs marketing and promotional initiatives to achieve budgetary volume projections.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payor sources.
  • Builds and monitors community, customer, payor and patient perceptions of Mission Healthcare as a high-quality provider of services.
  • Provides leadership in strategic planning including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to address customer needs.
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of Mission Healthcare markets including government agencies, major payor groups, key referral sources, and competitor’s market positioning.
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge in the field of marketing and shares information with direct supervisor and appropriate agency personnel.
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of community resources and assists customers in accessing community resources should services not be provided by Mission Healthcare.
  • Monitors and reports cost-effectiveness of marketing efforts.
  • Maintains timely submission of timesheets, expense reports, sales plans, quarterly goals, account profiles and other documents identified by your supervisor and per company policy.
  • Read and adhere to all Agency policy and procedures and follow Employee Handbook Guidelines.
  • Adhere to and participate in the Agency’s mandatory HIPAA/Privacy Program and Employee Compliance Program.
