About the Role

Planful is looking for a Sr. Revenue Accountant to play a key role in all aspects of the order-to-cash accounting function.  As the ideal candidate, you have a solid understanding of ASC 606 to determine revenue treatment for complex contracts, experience collaborating cross-functionally, and the ability to maintain scalable revenue processes. You are highly motivated, organized, detail oriented and can thrive in a growing and dynamic environment by easily adapting to change. 

Responsibilities 

  • Validate and review contract sales orders and invoices to ensure proper revenue recognition and deferred revenue for all subscription and service revenue streams.
  • Understand the quote-to-cash processes including systems logics and the downstream impacts.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly close tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations and various flux analysis across all revenue and accounts receivable-related accounts
  • Assist with company collections processes and work cross-functionally to resolve disputes and credit adjustments.
  • Understand and analyze the accounting impact of complex revenue contracts and ensure that revenue is recorded in compliance with Company’s revenue recognition policy and ASC 606.
  • Partner and work cross functionally with other business groups (Sales Operations, Customer Success, FP&A, Treasury, Business Technologies teams) to assist with key initiatives and improvements.
  • Assist with year-end external financial audits.
  • Support compliance with internal requirements and revenue accounting processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvements.
  • Support revenue team on ad-hoc analysis, projects and system implementations.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required. CPA Certification a plus! 
  • Proven experience supporting the monthly revenue recognition close process for a global SaaS organization.
  • 3-5+ years of combined revenue and GL accounting experience at a global SaaS organization.
  • Experience reviewing junior staff deliverables and providing mentorship on technical accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.

Pay Transparency Statement

At Planful our top priority is to support our employees and ensure each individual has access to equal growth opportunities. Pay decisions take into consideration the individual's skillset, experience, knowledge, qualifications for the role, and specific work location.
