Overview:
The McKesson P&AS Advisory team collaborates with McKesson Health System (MHS) customers to enhance pharmacy operations, financial performance, and efficiencies, focusing on supply chain, ambulatory, retail, specialty, and health system pharmacy operations. The Managing Pharmacist Consultant provides expertise in operational, financial, and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities and execute solutions.
Reporting to the VP, P&AS Advisory ,This role is key to enhancing McKesson's value to customers by leveraging expertise in pharmacy operations, supply chain optimization, and strategic consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver subject matter expertise in health systems' supply chain, retail, and specialty pharmacy.
- Drive strategic initiatives like supply chain improvements, formulary management, and specialty pharmacy optimization.
- Manage solution implementation, financial projections, and timelines for multiple customers.
- Provide leadership, set strategy, and offer consulting services as a subject matter expert.
- Develop tools and support services for ongoing advisory support to customers.
- Collaborate with P&AS leadership and McKesson units to recommend improvements and optimize customer value.
- Mentor team members and assist in recruitment processes.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor's in Pharmacy.
- Licensed Pharmacist with over 10 years of experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in health system pharmacy, supply chain, and pharmacy operations.
- Proficiency in pharmacy data management and payer/PBM processes.
- Experience engaging with health system/hospital executives.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy industry trends, data analytics, and project management software.
- Experience with health system automation and technology.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and preferred skills in PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, Agile.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, 340B Program, and regulatory requirements.
Additional Information:
- Travel requirement: 25-35%
- Formal consulting/advisory experience preferred.
- Advanced degree in business or healthcare management is strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
