The Role
City & State seeks a driven, detail-oriented, resourceful editorial assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be a critical player in the continued success of our must-read political power lists. You will join the growing team that drives significant web traffic and generates growing revenue. As the Editorial Assistant, you will report directly to the Editorial Director.
Responsibilities
- Compile key data on political players in New York, including finding and updating email contacts and other background information.
- Managing outreach to individuals on power lists, including gathering photos and credits.
- Gathering nominations and regularly updating the nomination form.
- Assisting with the layout of power lists in a weekly print magazine.
- Opportunity to take on higher-level research and writing tasks over time.
Qualifications
- Experience entering data in, formatting, and manipulating spreadsheets.
- Attention to detail and an ability to work independently are musts.
- Familiarity with New York politics and government is a major plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.

The compensation range for this role is $50,000 to $55,000 per year.
