Software Engineer - Open Banking Data Division

Mastercard is among other things a leading European Open Banking technology provider offering a direct connection to banks through a single API, allowing its customers to develop and launch new digital solutions.

Software engineers of the Open Banking Data Division play a key role in the development and maintenance of the company’s, data management and storage products.

Building on the strong foundation of our award-winning bank connectivity APIs, the engineers create turn-key solutions that take the complexities of managing account information services from customers that want to spend their efforts building great products that leverage the full potential of the open banking standard.

The engineers work at the bleeding edge of the open banking services, often solving problems that are yet to be tackled within the industry in areas of orchestration, data storage, accessibility, processing, and analysis and quality APIs. You will be joining a group of highly skilled individuals working together as a team to push the limits of what is achievable with open banking.

Main responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining high-quality data solutions in the cloud.
• Actively participating in designing and scoping upcoming features according to the product roadmap.
• Ensuring scalability and maintainability of the products through emphasis on good development, monitoring, and testing practices.
• Should the need arise, assist customer support with investigation and resolution of support cases related to the division’s product portfolio.
• Onboarding new customers and helping them achieve their open banking goals.

About you

• A bachelor’s degree or higher
• Extensive working experience in development of complex software systems in the cloud, preferably Azure or AWS.
• Strong knowledge of C# and ASP.NET (Core), alternatively Java Spring Boot
• Knowledge of common development practices of the industry (VCS (Git), CI/CD, Agile, Scrum)
• A flair for software architecture or API design
• Excellent level of written and spoken English

Advantageous:

• Experience with SaaS and distributed systems in an enterprise environment
• Experience from the financial sector or other regulated industries
• Deep understanding of "infrastructure-as-code" tooling (primarily Terraform)
• Full-stack experience, adding either Angular or React to the mix

Even if you do not meet all of the listed requirements, we would still love to hear from you, as we are constantly on the lookout for exceptional engineers to join our team!
