Job description

 We are seeking a Junior to Mid Weight Video Editor with great Premiere Pro knowledge and After Effects competency to work with our experienced, full service video department. 

what3words has a different creative model. You’ll work collaboratively in a motivated award winning marketing and design studio, reporting to the Video Team Lead. You’ll need to be proactive and enjoy the rapid pace of a tech company that’s creating a global standard for location. 

We create a large variety of projects, from use case films to advertising campaigns, for many countries, and we’re always trying to improve.

Responsibilities: 

  • Storytelling edits: Craft compelling video stories for what3words and our partners, to be used in campaigns, sales materials, PR and across social channels.

  • Videos will vary in length, aspect ratio and purpose, using footage from in-house teams, partners, stock libraries, and external production companies.

  • Motion design: Create eye-catching animations, from dynamic titles and 3D graphics to screen replacements and animating storyboards provided by our Design team.

  • Colour correction and grading: Ensure shots from different sources are matched and polished, improving poorly lit footage and maintaining a consistent visual tone across edits.

  • Audio skills: Select and integrate music, edit voiceovers, apply audio effects, and mix soundtracks to achieve high-quality audio for every project.

  • Project organization: Maintain consistent file management and workflows to ensure projects are accessible and well-structured for team collaboration.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with teammates - Video Editors, Designers, Copywriters, Art Directors, Marketing Managers, Traffic Manager and others to deliver exceptional video content that aligns with what3words’ brand and objectives.

Skills: 

  • You’ll be a strong storyteller who can transform raw footage into engaging, emotive video content.

  • Excellent editing skills with an eye for detail, pacing, and rhythm in both editing and motion graphics.

  • A passion for exploring new trends in branded content, especially on social platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

  • A collaborative team player who works well with different teams and people across projects.

  • Resourceful and quick-thinking, able to bring fresh ideas and adapt to feedback in a fast-paced environment.

  • Highly organized, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. 

  • A willingness to take initiative, learn new skills, and experiment with creative approaches.

Software Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects is essential. Working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator is a bonus.

  • A good understanding of video workflows is also important.

Experience:

  • A strong portfolio or showreel showcasing technical ability and storytelling skills. Examples of branded content, particularly for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, are highly desirable.

  • While several years of experience as a freelance or in-house video editor is preferred, we equally value passion, curiosity, and a strong willingness to learn. If you bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine interest in video editing and storytelling, we encourage you to apply.

  • Additional languages are a bonus but not required.
