Job description

Summary

The EMR Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining the operational and functional data integrity of the EMR system. This role involves close collaboration with leadership to ensure the system is utilized as designed, supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities:

Data Integrity Management: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within the EMR system.
- Regularly audit system data, identify inaccuracies/inconsistencies and work with leadership to resolve same
- Generate and analyze reports to monitor system utilization and identify areas for improvement.
- Regularly audit & “clean” data as needed including but not limited to:
  - HCPCS codes
  - Physicians
  - Insurance Companies
  - Fee Schedules
  - Templates (administrative, clinical, & tasks)
  - Device Types
  - Appointment Types
  - Prescription Statuses
System Maintenance:
- Perform regular updates to fee schedules, payers, HCPCS codes to ensure the most up-to-date and accurate information is always available for use.
- Update clinical & administrative templates as needed at the direction of the applicable committee(s)
User Support:
- Provide training to staff on the use of the EMR system.
- Keep end-users up to date regarding system updates, feature releases, workflow updates, and other enhancements and/or challenges with the system
- Maintain internal communication page(s) & training library
Compliance: Works closely with IT, legal, and compliance to ensure the EMR system complies with all relevant regulations and standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with leadership to align the EMR system's data and configurations to enhance our EMR processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare
Proficiency in EMR software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of healthcare workflows, regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA).
