We are looking for an experienced, visionary, and strategic Head of Design to lead our design efforts within the Jobs and Car Parts business units. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a key partner to cross-functional leadership, ensuring the design function is not only delivering exceptional user experiences but is also deeply integrated with broader business and product strategies. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of our products, advocating for the role of design, and driving user-centric innovation that supports business growth.
As the Head of Design, you will work closely with the Director of Design to translate the company’s overarching vision into actionable strategies and operational plans for your teams. You will define and communicate design priorities, establish clear goals, and foster a collaborative environment to execute solutions that balance user needs with business objectives. This role demands a leader who can inspire creativity, align teams around a shared vision, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful designs that elevate the user experience across our Jobs and Car Parts platforms.
What you will be doing:Driving the Category Design Vision: Leading and defining the design vision for your specific category, ensuring alignment with the broader company vision. Translating strategic objectives into actionable plans and deliverables for your design team.Design Advocacy: Act as a champion for design within Jobs and Car Parts business units, advocating for the value of design in driving business outcomes. Ensure design gets the necessary resources, attention, and support from other functions and leadership.Business Unit Alignment: Align the design team’s efforts with the strategic priorities of your business unit or category. Tailor design strategy and processes to meet the unique needs of your unit while maintaining consistency with company-wide objectives.Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day design operations with your design managers, including resource allocation, project prioritization, and process improvements. Ensure effective collaboration with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, etc.) to meet business goals and timelines.Design Quality: Ensure that design output maintains the highest standards of quality, focusing on delivering exceptional user experiences. Continuously improve design processes and deliverables to ensure they meet the evolving needs of your business unit.Mentorship and Development: Mentor and develop design managers, lead designers and other team members to foster leadership growth and a strong design culture.
