Reporting to the Vice President, Compensation we are seeking a Senior Manager Compensation to provide ongoing compensation partnership for assigned client groups, support the firm’s equity program and lead compensation systems/tools and related vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Act as primary Compensation Partner for specific functional groups and aligned HR Business Partners by providing ongoing consultation, problem solving and mentorship for all compensation related issues and projects including the annual performance and compensation process and ongoing projects.
- Support the firm’s equity program and process including ad-hoc analysis, contribute to projects related to equity and prepare equity grant content for quarterly compensation committee meeting.
- Provide direction and oversight to team members responsible for equity administration process including creation and tracking of grant agreements and other related documentation within specified timeframes and by deadlines.
- Support the annual compensation planning process and update of compensation planning system including user acceptance testing, auditing of system, generating reports, and collaborating with HR Business Partners.
- Manage relationships with external vendors related to compensation surveys and compensation management/market pricing tool.
- Participate in compensation surveys and conduct annual market analysis to determine competitiveness and base salary market range updates.
- Conduct ongoing market pricing of new and existing jobs.
- Maintain job architecture including updates to job functions/families and job codes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Certified Compensation Professional designation preferred.
- Minimum 7 plus years of experience in delivery of base, incentive and equity programs preferably within Financial Services.
- Excellent analytical skills with focus on data analysis and compensation modeling.
- Outstanding attention to detail to ensure a high quality of work products.
- Possess a problem-solving approach and strong project management skills.
- Experience with long term incentive in a private equity owned firm preferred or experience with similar vehicles (e.g., stock options).
- Outstanding communication skills and demonstrable track record to collaborate with key partners including HR leadership, line managers/business leaders and Finance.
- Ability to work independently and lead several priorities simultaneously.
- In depth experience with compensation surveys including Aon/Radford, McLagan and Willis Towers Watson.
- Experience with compensation management/market pricing tools including Willis Towers Watson Compensation Software, Compensation planning systems such as PayScale and equity administration platforms including Shareworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $115,700 - $170,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
