Overview:
Summary
The Microsoft Principal Consultant role is responsible for providing leadership in enterprise consulting services in an outcome-driven solutions model. The Microsoft Principal Consultant leads solution architecture and implementation for software and cloud services within one or more of the key Microsoft solution pillars: Voice & Collaboration, Identity & Security, O365 & Infrastructure, SharePoint & Development, and Azure. The position is expected to lead multiple, simultaneous client projects in conjunction with project management, act as the technical lead for project delivery teams, as well as providing thought leadership on the latest technology developments in their area of expertise. The Principal Microsoft Consultant can act as a trusted advisor to technical or C-level stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Learns client’s business, their organization, systems, challenges, and goals
- Participates in, and leads, stakeholder brainstorming, technical planning and design sessions
- Crafts the technical vision by mapping requirements to technical solutions, communicating through functional and technical designs
- Collaborates in or lead solution architecture definition with pre-sales
- Validates pre-sales design during design assurance
- Participates in planning of technical execution
- Executes design and implementation according to ConvergeOne and industry best practices
- Maintains accurate documentation and produce project deliverables as scoped
- Performs work according to schedule and within budget
- Leads and develops new product training and knowledge transfer
- Articulates execution strategy through roadmaps, estimates and implementation plans
- Ensures quality through enforcement of best practices and project governance
- Builds prototypes and proofs of concept to validate technical decisions
- Leads by example through implementation of challenging, core components
- Leads client facing, and internal training (technology training and/or application specific-training)
- Engages directly with customers at the CIO/CTO level, supporting executive briefings and innovation workshops
- Researches new technologies and document deployment strategies and best practices
- Makes recommendations on new products or offers to add to the ConvergeOne Microsoft portfolio
- Collaborates as a team with peers on delivery, problem solving, and knowledge sharing
Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Works on projects both independently and as a team lead or team member
- Stays abreast of latest network and cloud technologies within and around technical specializations
- Provides leadership and mentoring to colleagues
- Develops process standards and practices and templates
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 8+ years related experience with Microsoft solutions
- Current Microsoft certification(s) in primary technical competency
- Proven track record of solutions delivery and client satisfaction
- Problem-solving mentality and commitment to continuous learning
- Willingness and ability to leverage internal and/or external resources
- Excellent verbal and written communication

Pay Range
$140,000 - $180,000
Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to base pay.
