Job description

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Paralegal to join our in-house legal team. This role provides essential support to the legal department, assisting with contract management, litigation support, and compliance with consumer and employment law. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong organizational skills, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

Contract Management:
• Assist Department Attorneys and Legal Operation Manager with the drafting, review, and organization of contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, and non-disclosure agreements, as needed.
• Maintain the contract management system, ensuring accurate tracking of contract renewals and expirations.
• Support the negotiation process by preparing contract summaries and related documentation, as needed.
Litigation Support:
• Provide assistance with consumer and employment litigation, including gathering and organizing evidence, managing case files, and preparing legal documents.
• Assist in discovery processes, such as document production and deposition preparation.
• Coordinate with external counsel on litigation matters, as needed.
Compliance Support:
• Support the creation and maintenance of employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
• Assist in responding to consumer and employment-related complaints and inquiries, as needed.
General Legal Support:
• Organize and maintain legal department files and databases, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations for the legal team, as needed.
• Provide administrative support to attorneys, such as scheduling meetings and managing legal calendars.
• Perform other administrative and paralegal duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role, preferably in a corporate or in-house setting.
• Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, CLIO) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with contract management systems and e-discovery tools is a plus.
• Experience in contract law, consumer law, or employment law.
• Familiarity with litigation support, including e-discovery and trial preparation.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and compliance processes.
• Computer competency and ability to work with a computer.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Punctuality expected, ready to report to work on a consistent basis.
• Attain and maintain high performance expectations on a monthly basis.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
• Use and navigate multiple computer systems with exceptional multi-tasking skills.
• Remain calm and professional during difficult discussions.
• Take constructive feedback.
• Available for full-time position, overtime eligible if classified non-exempt.

Compensation Information: Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $58,500 to $70,200 annually. Benefits:
