We are seeking experienced Legal/Judicial Independent Contractors specialized in transcribing depositions and hearings. This is a fully remote position, allowing you the flexibility to manage your own schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately transcribe audio recordings of depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings, adhering strictly to established style guides.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of legal terminology to produce high-quality verbatim transcripts.
  • Collaborate effectively with our in-office team when assistance is required, ensuring a strong support network.
  • Maintain deadlines and uphold client-specific guidelines for all transcription tasks.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in legal transcription, court reporting, or scoping.
  • Exceptional listening abilities to accurately capture spoken content.
  • Strong literacy skills, including proficiency in spelling, grammar, and comprehension.
  • High typing proficiency in terms of both speed and accuracy.
  • Capacity to handle sensitive audio/text content with discretion.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology is essential.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in legal transcription or equivalent court reporting experience is required.
  • Court reporting students are also encouraged to apply.
