We're looking for a talented, hands-on, Network Architect to assess, analyze, and enhance the reliability of our network solutions.

Our solutions operate in challenging environments and support extremely innovative technologies. In this role, you'll support our Deployment team in implementing innovative designs on vessels, Autonomous systems, and remote sites, collaborate closely with stakeholders, and create impactful development initiatives. Your strategic coordination and operational support will ensure our services are delivered efficiently, even in the most challenging settings.

Your role

• You work closely with internal stakeholders such as Innovation teams, Vessel teams, Remote Operation Centers and operational business lines to develop and improve solutions that are in line with their needs;

• You assess and analyse the reliability and performance of WAN and LAN’s at remote sites and suggest improvements;

• You support our Deployment team with the implementation of new designs on vessels and develop initiatives for personnel at remote sites to assist with remote services delivery;

• You translate high level designs into technical solutions and provide guidance and advice on Wide Area Networks and Local Area Networks;

• You have the ability to clearly explain these designs and solutions to colleagues at all levels in our company;

• You drive continuous improvement in our services by keeping close to the industry and its latest developments;

• You create awareness of operational requirements in a marine environment and mentor Network Engineers within the company to improve Fugro’s knowledgebase.

Your track record

• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Network design, operations and support. Preferable you also have experience in the Marine industry;

• You are certified CCNA as a minimum. Additional Cisco certifications and certifications in other technologies, such as AWS, Azure and Juniper are seen as a plus;

• You are experienced in complex network topologies and protocols across various standards;

• You have effective communication skills and are able to communicate at all levels of the organization;

• You are pro-active, dynamic, dedicated and a responsible self-starter with strong customer orientation and multi-tasking capabilities;

• You possess the ability to appropriately prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment;

• You are a good critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills;

• You have excellent English language skills, both written and oral.
