Job description

Vice President of Direct Sales, Americas

Trimble is looking for a visionary sales leader with a passion for transforming the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner) industry through innovative software solutions. We are on the lookout for an exceptional Vice President of Americas Direct Sales to spearhead our sales efforts, drive exponential growth, and revolutionize how the AECO segment leverages end-to-end technology solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering revenue for multi-product sales strategy, driving sales performance, leading a high-performing team of over 300 professionals in North, Central and South America, and delivering best-in-class software solutions to our diverse customer base. This role requires a strong communicator who is highly organized, collaborative, and determined with the ability to motivate all levels of sales staff and work within and across sectors ensure that sales goals are met or exceeded.
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market penetration in the AECO segment.

  • Lead and manage a diverse sales team, including new logo acquisition, customer success, product specialists, major accounts, and sales engineering.

  • Foster a high-performance culture through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

  • Proven ability to drive cross-sell initiatives to expand revenue opportunities and enhance customer relationships.

  • Partner and collaborate with the various segments across Trimble to drive Connect & Scale initiatives and capture cross sell opportunities.

  • Utilize extensive management and SaaS experience to optimize sales processes, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Research and implement ways AI can be utilized in the sales team to enhance productivity, improve customer engagement, and ultimately drive higher sales performance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.

  • Manage and report on sales performance, providing insights and recommendations to the AECO Chief Revenue Officer.

  • Ensure effective use of CRM and other sales tools to track activities, pipeline, and results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

  • 15+ management experience in sales leadership roles within the software/SaaS industry, particularly in the AECO segment.

  • Preferred experience in cross selling and integrating hardware solutions into the sale. 

  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a large, diverse team of both direct and indirect sellers

  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.

  • Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.

  • This position requires travel of up to 50%. Travel requirements may vary depending on assigned number of customer projects and project timing. Candidates for this position must be willing and able to meet travel requirements. A valid driver’s license and ability to qualify for a US Passport are required. Also required is the ability to qualify for a company credit card or possession of a personal credit card with sufficient limits to charge travel expenses.
