The Job
As the Accountant, you will mainly be responsible for the operational execution of financial functions from journal entries to statutory audits and in supporting relevant stakeholders with budgeting, reporting and compliance. You will also be managing the general administrative duties in the Nigeria office.
Responsibilities:
- Executing the procurement-to-pay process, recording accounts payable and receivables, reconciling bank payments, processing employee expenses/ advances and all other journal entries.
- Supporting payroll verification and payment of salaries to the respective banks.
- Compiling Balance sheet Reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with the accounting laws and Tiko policies.
- Preparing monthly reconciliations and month-end working papers and reconciling VAT returns
- Offering administrative support to the Nigeria team
About You
You have strong knowledge of local accounting standards and statutory requirements. You are great with numbers and have an eye for detail. You have strong administration skills and are organised.
Requirements
- You are based in Nigeria
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- You have excellent knowledge of financial ERP systems, NetSuite added advantage
- Experience in local audit, reporting & taxes
- Good understanding of local regulations and compliance
- International experience as an accountant is a plus
- NGO experience is an added advantage
- Fluency in English is mandatory
